Peter has been working in Edinburgh, as a sports and deep tissue therapist since 2006, spending most of that time working with physiotherapists in a clinical setting, but also working onsite at events and performances. Peter originally trained and worked as an engineer and has always been interested in how things work. He became interested in anatomy and physiology and has developed a passion for understanding how tissues become dysfunctional and how to effectively treat them to alleviate symptoms. Peter regularly attends professional development courses as well as reading books and journals to keep up to date with current developments.
Hannah Stuart – Associate Sport Massage Therapist
Hannah is qualified in soft tissue therapy, sports and remedial massage. She is currently studying sports therapy and has worked with a Premiership rugby club for the last 2 seasons. As a level 3 qualified personal trainer, she enjoys taking fitness classes and making personalised training programmes for all abilities. She has massaged at numerous running events in the past (providing pre and post massage) and enjoys taking part in trail runs and cycling. Hannah adapts her massage sessions depending on the individual’s needs and where necessary, can carry out stretching sessions to improve flexibility. The main aims are to help muscle soreness/ tension and performance, encourage relaxation and increase range of movement.
Mio Kuroiwa – Associate Remedial & Sport Massage Therapist
Mio is a qualified Remedial & Sports massage therapist. She originally worked as a medical journal editor in Japan, and has been always interested in health science and well-being. Mio has Diplomas in Remedial & Sports and Swedish Massage from the Scottish Massage Schools, and has provided massage treatments at sports events and a local football club.
Treatments are available for Musculo-Skeletal problems, sports injuries, pre/post event, back pain, shoulder & neck stiffness/aches, repetitive strain injury (RSI), rehabilitation, maintenance, stress and fatigue.
Each treatment is tailored after an initial consultation and assessment, using various techniques including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, mobilisations, soft tissue release and medical acupuncture. Her aim is to work with clients to assist with recovery and improve on their overall health and performance through massage.
